1. Overview
EasyWish is a Shopify app that enables wishlist functionality on your store. This Privacy Policy explains what data EasyWish collects, how it is used, and how it is protected — for both merchants who install the app and their customers.
2. Data We Collect
From Merchants (Store Owners)
When you install EasyWish, we store:
- Your Shopify store domain
- Your name and email address (provided by Shopify during installation)
- An access token to communicate with your Shopify store
This data is used solely to operate the app on your store and is deleted when you uninstall EasyWish.
From Your Customers
EasyWish stores the following per customer:
- Shopify customer ID
- Saved wishlist items: product ID, variant ID, product handle, and the date the item was added
We do not store customer names, addresses, payment details, or any sensitive personal information.
Guest (Non-logged-in) Customers
Wishlist data for guests is stored entirely in the customer’s own browser (localStorage). This data never touches our servers. When a guest logs in, their browser wishlist is merged into their account and the browser copy is cleared.
Analytics
We collect aggregated, anonymised analytics at the store level — for example, how many times a product was added to wishlists across all customers. This data contains no personally identifiable information (PII) and is automatically deleted after 90 days.
3. How We Use Data

We do not use customer data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the wishlist feature.
4. Data Storage & Retention
- Customer wishlist data is stored in Shopify metafields — directly within your Shopify store. We do not copy this data to an external database.
- Merchant session data is stored in a secure database and is deleted when the app is uninstalled.
- Aggregated analytics are stored in Shopify metafields with automatic 90-day rolling deletion.
- Guest wishlist data is stored in the customer’s browser only and is never transmitted to our servers.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any merchant or customer data with third parties. All data remains within your Shopify store or our secure session database. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.
6. Wishlist Sharing Feature
EasyWish allows customers to share their wishlist via a unique link. When a customer shares their wishlist:
- The link contains a token that points to their saved products
- Anyone with the link can view the wishlist items (product names, images, prices)
- No personal information (name, email, address) is exposed through the shared link
Customers choose whether to share their wishlist. Sharing is entirely optional.
7. GDPR — Rights of EU Customers
If you or your customers are based in the European Union, the following rights apply under GDPR:
- Right to access — Customers can request a copy of their wishlist data
- Right to erasure — Customers can request deletion of their wishlist data
- Right to portability — Customers can request their wishlist data in a portable format
- Right to object — Customers can object to processing of their data

Merchants can also delete a specific customer’s wishlist at any time by removing their metafield data from the Shopify admin.
8. Data Security
- All communication between EasyWish and Shopify is encrypted via HTTPS
- App proxy requests are verified using Shopify’s HMAC signature mechanism
- Access tokens are stored securely and never exposed to the browser
- We do not log or store customer request data beyond what is required to operate the app
9. Cookies & Browser Storage
EasyWish does not use cookies. For guest customers, wishlist data is stored in localStorage — a browser-based storage mechanism that does not track users across sites and is not accessible by third parties.
10. Children’s Privacy
EasyWish is a B2B app designed for Shopify merchants. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of EasyWish after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
