Product Engraving Personalization on product page without any 3rd party app

Implemented a custom laser engraving personalization feature on the Shopify product page without using any third-party apps. Customers can enable the engraving option, enter their custom text, and the additional engraving cost is automatically applied.

To overcome Shopify’s limitation of modifying the original product price, I developed a solution where the engraving is added as a separate linked line item in the cart. The engraving text is stored with the product and remains visible in the cart, checkout, and final order, ensuring merchants can easily process personalized orders.

This solution works with any Shopify theme and provides a lightweight alternative to expensive personalization apps while maintaining store performance.

Custom Theme Enhancements & Large-Scale Review Migration from Ebay to Shopify

In this project, I worked as a Shopify developer on a store using the Prestige theme, where the client wanted advanced customizations beyond the default layout. I redesigned the header to feature a prominent centered search bar with navigation repositioned below it, creating a more modern and user-focused experience. I also built custom tab sections with smooth “show more / show less” functionality, added a dynamic brand section linked to dedicated brand pages built using metaobjects, and developed a fully customized brand template showcasing logos, highlighted products, and related collections. Additionally, the brand had over 200,000 reviews on eBay, which I scraped, formatted, and successfully imported into the Shopify store, ensuring all product reviews were properly structured and displayed, resulting in a seamless, high-performance, and fully customized storefront.

Advanced Theme Customization & SKU-Based Product Grouping Automation using Shopify Flow

Mobile Navigation Rebuilt

• Converted top-level navigation items into tab-based navigation.
• Automatically displayed first-level menu items on drawer open to give users an instant overview.

Dynamic Product Grouping (SKU-Based Automation)

• Grouped separate products to behave like variants using the first 7 digits of the SKU.
• Implemented automated grouping logic using Shopify Flow.
• New products are automatically assigned to the correct group based on SKU logic.
• Group updates trigger automatically when product status changes.

Variant-Like Experience Across Separate Products

• Swatch selection updates URL and page content dynamically without full page reload.
• Entire product data refreshes using AJAX for seamless UX.
• Displayed grouped color options on:
  • Product pages
  • Collection cards
  • Upsell sections

Result

Created a scalable system where independent products behave like variants without restructuring the catalog, improving UX, automation, and long-term maintainability.

Infinite Scroll for Shopify Collection Pages (Filter & Sort Compatible)

Developed a custom infinite scroll solution for Shopify collection pages that works seamlessly with filtering and sorting, without using any third-party apps.

Unlike most implementations that break when filters or sort options are applied, this solution dynamically loads products based on the active selection and continues working flawlessly.

The implementation was documented in a detailed blog post and widely appreciated, even adopted by a previous agency’s CTO for use in their live projects. This lightweight, scalable approach improves UX while maintaining performance across Shopify stores.
